In the summer of 2019 I had the great good fortune to be in Halifax for the Anne Lister Weekend, a marvelous event organized by Laura Johansen, via the Calderdale Cultural Destinations project. The highlight of the weekend was hearing Helena Whitbread and
Jill Liddington speak about their work, in the Halifax Minster, where Anne Lister was baptized and buried. The sense of community amongst all who attended was stunning. It was this transformative experience that compelled me to create this 4 day event
celebrating Anne Lister’s 229th birthday.

Very best to you,

Know this: I am not asking you to come to an event. I am not asking you to take a tour. I am inviting you
to come to this place, to be surrounded by this community, and to be transformed.
